RULES & REGULATIONS

The laws that govern life at Evermore Crown College - from the sacred Concordat to Crown League athletics to the everyday rules that keep 8,000 magical students from burning down the campus.

The Concordat of Gray

THE SUPREME LAW

"The Concordat supersedes all other rules. Violations are not merely disciplinary matters - they are threats to the peace that ended the Great War."

Concordat Violations

  • House Warfare Expulsion

Organized violence between Houses, attempts to undermine House leadership, or actions intended to restart inter-House conflict.

Penalty: Immediate expulsion, potential criminal charges, family notified, permanent record across all magical institutions.
  • Bloodline Discrimination Severe

Harassment, exclusion, or violence based on bloodline origin - whether "hero" or "villain" descent. The Concordat exists to end this divide.

Penalty: Suspension to expulsion depending on severity. Mandatory education program for first offense.
  • Inciting Division Severe

Spreading propaganda, organizing factions, or deliberately creating House-based tensions that threaten campus unity.

Penalty: Investigation by Administration. Suspension minimum. Expulsion if intent is proven.
  • Prophecy Manipulation Expulsion

Attempting to fulfill, prevent, or manipulate prophecies in ways that could trigger Concordat collapse.

Penalty: Immediate expulsion, magical monitoring, potential kingdom-level intervention.

Magic Regulations

Prohibited Magic (Absolute Ban)

  • Mind Control Expulsion

Any magic that overrides another person's free will. Natural charm/charisma effects are exempt; forced compliance is not.

  • Time Manipulation Expulsion

Altering, stopping, or reversing time. The consequences are too catastrophic to permit any experimentation.

  • Resurrection Magic Expulsion

Attempting to bring back the dead. What returns is never what was lost.

  • Reality Warping Expulsion

Magic that fundamentally alters the nature of reality beyond illusion or transformation.

  • Magic Theft Expulsion

Stealing, draining, or permanently blocking another person's bloodline magic.

  • Dark Curses Expulsion

Casting curses intended to cause permanent harm, death, or generational effects.

Restricted Magic (Regulated Use)

  • Combat Magic Permit Required

Offensive magic may only be used in designated training areas, sanctioned duels, or Crown League athletics. Self-defense exception exists but requires immediate reporting.

Note: Crown League has separate regulations for athletic magic use (see Athletics section).
  • Transformation Magic Registration

Shapeshifters and transformation bloodlines must register their forms with Campus Security. Assuming another person's appearance without consent is prohibited.

  • Divination/Prophecy Counseling

Students with seer abilities must attend mandatory counseling with Professor Starweaver. Sharing prophecies publicly requires faculty review.

  • Memory Magic Supervised Only

Reading or modifying memories requires consent AND faculty supervision. Therapeutic use allowed under Medical Wing protocols.

General Magic Rules

  • Control Responsibility

Students are responsible for controlling their bloodline abilities. Uncontrolled magic that causes harm will be investigated - intent matters but doesn't eliminate consequences.

Support: Students with volatile powers can request Ironvault housing or additional training without stigma.
  • Magic-Nullifying Zones

Certain areas (exam halls, medical wing, administrative offices) have magic-nullifying technology. Attempting to bypass these protections is a disciplinary offense.

  • Magical Item Registration

Enchanted items above Class 3 danger rating must be registered with Campus Security. Unregistered dangerous artifacts will be confiscated.

Crown League Athletics

Magic in Competition

  • Passive Abilities: PERMITTED

Bloodline abilities that are always active (enhanced strength, speed, durability, reflexes) may be used freely. These are considered part of the athlete's natural ability.

  • Active Abilities: REGULATED

Magic that must be consciously activated (transformation, elemental attacks, teleportation) must be declared and approved by league officials before the season.

Example: Felix Charming's luck magic is registered. Fenrir's partial transformation is registered. Titan's growth must stay within approved size limits.
  • Prohibited In-Game Ejection + Suspension

No lethal force. No mind control. No time manipulation. No magic targeting spectators. Referees carry magic-nullifying technology.

  • Performance Enhancement Season Ban

Magical performance enhancers (potions, temporary enchantments, borrowed powers) are strictly prohibited. Testing occurs randomly and after every game.

Penalty: First offense: season suspension, public disclosure. Second offense: permanent Crown League ban.

NIL (Name, Image, Likeness)

  • Disclosure Requirements

All NIL deals must be reported to the Athletic Director within 72 hours of signing. Failure to disclose may result in eligibility issues.

  • Prohibited Sponsors

Athletes may not accept NIL deals from: Shadow Market entities, known Concordat opponents, performance enhancer manufacturers, or kingdom political factions.

  • Academic Requirements

Athletes must maintain minimum 2.0 GPA. Falling below triggers mandatory study hall and potential game suspension until grades improve.

Team Conduct

  • Unity Clause

The team represents ALL four Houses. House-based conflicts within the team are treated as Concordat violations, not merely disciplinary issues.

  • Captain Authority

Team captains (Felix Charming - Offense, Rex Commander - Defense) have authority to bench players for conduct issues pending coach review.

Campus Life Rules

Residential Rules

  • Quiet Hours

11 PM - 7 AM Sunday-Thursday. Midnight - 8 AM Friday-Saturday. Thorncourt has... flexible enforcement on game weekends.

  • Guest Policy

Overnight guests must be registered with the RA. Guests from rival schools during game week require special approval.

  • Room Modifications

Magical modifications to dorm rooms require Housing approval. Fireproofing, soundproofing, and containment wards may be requested through proper channels.

  • Forbidden Forest Off-Limits

The Forbidden Forest is officially off-limits after dark. Exceptions exist for Wildspire residents with faculty approval.

Reality: Security knows students go anyway. They care more about students returning safely than strict enforcement.

Academic Integrity

  • Magical Cheating Severe

Using magic to cheat on exams (divination, mind reading, time loops, etc.) is treated more seriously than mundane cheating due to the unfair advantage.

Penalty: Course failure, academic probation, notation on transcript. Athletes lose eligibility during probation.
  • Ghostwriting

Having enchanted items, spirits, or other entities complete your work is prohibited. Your bloodline can help you think, not think for you.

Social Conduct

  • Dueling Regulated

Formal duels are permitted ONLY in the Ironworks Training Facility with faculty supervision and mutual consent. Unsanctioned duels are treated as assault.

  • MirrorNet Conduct

Harassment, doxxing, or using MirrorNet's magical features to harm others is a disciplinary offense. "It's just social media" is not a defense.

  • Party Registration

Events with more than 50 attendees technically require registration. Thorncourt Suite 3C has apparently never heard of this rule.

Substances

  • Alcohol

Permitted for students 21+ in designated areas. Magical alcohol (enhanced effects) follows same rules but with additional warnings about potency.

  • Magical Substances Prohibited

Recreational potions, enchanted substances, and magical intoxicants beyond standard alcohol are prohibited. The effects are too unpredictable.

  • Shadow Market Products Expulsion Risk

Possession of Shadow Market contraband (unregistered artifacts, illegal potions, cursed items) can result in expulsion and legal consequences.
